内容简介：CREOL, The College of Optics and Photonics started in 1987 as the Center for Research in Electro Optics and Laser. Today to describe its academic and research activities it is a full-fledged college at the University of Central Florida. It has 27 faculty, 4 research faculty, ~60 research scientists and about 220 graduate students. These people are drawn from all over the world as CREOL has become internationally recognized for its research and educational offerings. In this talk CREOL, The College of Optics and Photonics will be described and the research activities of its faculty outlined. 

主讲人介绍：美国中佛罗里达大学光学院教授，激光光谱和模块研究团队带头人，所在部门为美国三大光学中心之一。Michael Bass1960年毕业于卡内基-梅隆大学获学士学位，并分别于1962年和1964年从密歇根大学获物理学硕士和博士学位。他于2013年被评选美国科学院发明家，并于2014年获得美国光学学会（OSA）R.W. Wood奖。
