专家介绍:Dr. Benxin Wu received his Bachelor degree from Tsinghua University in 2001, and his PhD degree from Purdue University (West Lafayette, Indiana, USA) in 2007. He is currently an associate professor at the Department of Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering at Illinois Institute of Technology (Chicago, USA).  Dr. Wu’s research interest is mainly in the area of laser-material interactions and laser-based manufacturing and materials processing.

Abstract: Lasers, as flexible, non-contact, and high-spatial-resolution tools, have found more and more applications in manufacturing and materials processing. The applications may often require or benefit from a fundamental understanding of related laser-material interactions. This talk will present some of our research work in the area of laser-materials interactions and laser-based manufacturing and materials processing.
