应我所邀请，美国TMT代表团将于2012年4月23日访问我所。在访问期间，美国亚利桑那大学James H. Burge教授将做题目为“Large Optics”的学术报告，请感兴趣的老师、同学积极参加。

James H. Burge简介:

1987年获美国俄亥俄州立大学学士学位；1993年获美国亚利桑那大学博士学位。光学教授（Professor of Optical Sciences），天文学教授（Professor of Astronomy）主要从事光学系统工程技术研究，包括：光学设计、光电仪器定位于跟踪，低温系统研究（optical design, opto-mechanics, pointing and tracking, detectors, cryogenic systems）；光学检测与精密光学计量（optical testing and precision metrology）；光学非球面加工（fabrication of aspheric surfaces）；空间用超轻反射镜研究（development of ultra-lightweight mirrors for space）；衍射光学元器件设计制造（design and fabrication of diffractive optics）；恒星干涉技术研究（stellar interferometry）；天文仪器研究（astronomical instrumentation）。
